He will be playing Jack Culpepper, Jimmy Stewart, and others in Backwards in High Heels, the Ginger Rogers Story at Westchester Broadway Theatre directed by Jeremy Benton.


 
 

BIO:

    Matt Gibson is a RI native who now lives in New York City.  He’s an actor who sings and dances.

    He’s been performing professionally full-time since 2005.  He’s performed on and off-Broadway, regionally, on tour, and on TV and film.  Click the “Resume” tab above for his most recent credits.

    Matt is a co-founder of the production company On the Rocks Films that produces independent films and has been commissioned to aid in the production of others’ short films, commercial parodies, and music videos.

    He's taught master classes in the business of acting, vocal performance, scene study, improv, and song and dance for such organizations as Camp Broadway, Broadway Classroom, Disney Cruise Lines, From Stage and Screen, and R.Evolución Latina.  He's also worked in the entertainment field as a writer, director, choreographer, dance captain, creative consultant, judge for playwriting festivals, reader, and audition coach.

   Matt earned his BFA in drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts studying acting on stage and film at CAP21 and Stonestreet Studios.  More recently, he has studied film acting with Bob Krakower, classical text performance with Ian Hersey of the Public Theatre, and vocal performance at Jen Waldman Studios.

  

FUN FACTS: 

    He has dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States.

    He’s a certified officiant.

    Matt is a Manhattan property owner. 

    Matt was a double major in college.  In addition to his BFA in Drama he earned an honors degree in Journalism from NYU.

    He has a twin brother.
