-The short film “Finish Her” which Matt wrote and acted in will be screened on April 28th at Front Toward Enemy in Astoria at 8pm.

    -He’s scheduled to play Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Heritage Theatre Festival on the University of Virginia’s campus from June 2nd-July 5th in Charlottesville, VA!


    Matt Gibson is a RI native who now lives in New York City.  He’s an actor who sings and dances.

    He’s been acting full time since 2005.  He made his Broadway debut in 2008.

    Matt earned his BFA in drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts studying acting on stage and film at CAP21 and Stonestreet Studios.  More recently, he has studied film acting with Bob Krakower, classical text performance with Ian Hersey of the Public Theatre, and vocal performance at Jen Waldman Studios.

  He's taught master classes in the business of acting, vocal performance, scene study, and song and dance for such organizations as Broadway Classroom, Disney Cruise Lines, From Stage and Screen, and R.Evolución Latina.  Matt has also worked as a reader for regional theaters and NY casting agencies such as Fulton Opera House, Northern Stage, and Telsey & Company.   He's also worked in the entertainment field as a director, choreographer, creative consultant, audition coach, and writer.



    He has dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States.

    He’s a certified officiant.

    Matt is a Manhattan property owner. 

    Matt was a double major in college.  In addition to his BFA in Drama he earned an honors degree in Journalism from NYU.

    He has a twin brother.
