    Matt was a double major in college.  In addition to his BFA in Drama he earned an honors degree in Journalism from NYU.

    He has a twin brother.

NEWS:

    -Matt will be returning to off-Broadway this fall in The Underclassman at the Duke on 42nd Street presented by Prospect Theatre Company playing Nov. 9th through the 23rd (with a possible extension to the 6th).


    -He is scheduled to appear in The Merry Widow at the Met opening on New Year’s Eve directed by Susan Stroman.


    -On the Rocks Films, a production company Matt co-founded, will be releasing it’s fourth film of the year shortly.  It’s a short film that Matt wrote and acted in called A Sixth for Sundays.


BIO:

    Matt Gibson is a RI native who now lives in New York City.  He’s an actor who sings and dances.

    He’s been acting full time since 2005.  He made his Broadway debut in 2008.

    Matt earned his BFA in drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts studying acting on stage and film at CAP21 and Stonestreet Studios.  More recently, he has studied film acting with Bob Krakower, classical text performance with Ian Hersey of the Public Theatre, and vocal performance at Jen Waldman Studios.

  He's taught master classes in the business of acting, vocal performance, scene study, improv, and song and dance for such organizations as Camp Broadway, Broadway Classroom, Disney Cruise Lines, From Stage and Screen, and R.Evolución Latina.  He's also worked in the entertainment field as a writer, director, choreographer, creative consultant, reader, and audition coach.
